Occupational Risk Assessment of Wind Turbines in Bangladesh

نویسندگان

چکیده

Wind energy is among the foremost vital renewable sources in world. With increase its popularity and use, requirement for safety measures regarding this type of becoming more prevalent. The development operation requirements that come with installing running wind turbines have many risks need managing mitigation. This study implemented a risk evaluation method transportation, construction, operation, maintenance turbines, employing fuzzy method. Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (FAHP), multi-criteria higher cognitive process technique, was used to determine weights parameters evaluated Fine–Kinney After that, Technique Order Performance by Similarity Ideal Solution (FTOPSIS) employed ranking hazard’s source. Using Occupational Health Safety (OHS) consultants, conducted Bangladesh onshore turbines. Findings revealed most prevalent hazards during maintenance, respectively, are “Driving vehicles at night dark weather conditions”, “Work hot humid “Inclement weather”, “Entering unauthorized persons”. results can help OHS department track these control minimize them.

An occupational risk assessment approach for construction and operation period of wind turbines

As wind energy is one of the most important renewable energy sources over the globe, need for increasing safety for this type of energy is gaining importance. Although this sector is not suffering an excessive amount of fatal injury accidents, there are many aspects open for improvements in occupational health and safety management. The construction and operation processes of wind turbines incl...

Reliability Assessment of Wind Turbines

Wind turbines can be considered as structures that are in between civil engineering structures and machines since they consist of structural components and many electrical and machine components together with a control system. Further, a wind turbine is not a one-of-a-kind structure but manufactured in series production based on many component tests, some prototype tests and zeroseries wind tur...

Assessment of whole-body occupational radiation exposures in nuclear medicine practices of Bangladesh during 2010-2014

Introduction: Occupational exposure to ionizing radiation due to medical activities (both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures) has increased sharply in recent years. Among the occupationally exposed workers in these fields, those most affected by this increased exposure to ionizing radiation are nuclear medicine workers. In this study, annual average effective dose, annual collective effectiv...

Simulation-Base Multi- Objective Risk Management for Optimal Wind Turbines Placement: Case of Khodabandeh City

The main purpose of this study is to provide three simulation-based risk management models for optimal placement of wind turbines in Khodabandeh city (located in the south of Zanjan province) taking into account the wake effect and uncertainty in wind speed and direction. For this purpose, wind speed and direction data were collected, then wind speed and direction uncertainty was modeled by Mon...

41.3 Wind Turbines

The development of windmills has a long tradition. Windmills were already in use in Japan and China thousands of years ago. The great irrigation systems of Babylon are thought to have been powered by windmotors. Examples of windmills erected almost 2000 years ago still exist in Egypt. 'Wind power generation was first introduced to the Western world around the 8th century A.D. By the 16th centur...
